During the two year program 'academic training in classical drawing' we get many questions about what paper is most suitable for a model- or portrait drawing in charcoal. Actually, there is only one answer: choose good quality paper and apply a nice tonal value to the surface yourself. During these classes we will teach you how to make this ideal surface. Are you joining the portrait course number three? Then you can use this ground right away as the basis for your portrait drawing. This course will be given by Frank de Vreeze. He has been a student from Ilse and attended several drawing programs with great enthusiasm and love for drawing. His immense focus, open mindedness and willingness to learn made him one of the best students. From September 2024 he has been assisting Ilse during her lessons, something that he will continue doing this academic year. Also, he will be teaching the introductory course for portrait number three. (The course will proceed when a minimum of 7 students have registered. Should this number not be reached, we will refund the course fee.)
