On the last day of October I gave a landscape painting workshop to the people from 'OBM Strategy Marketing Development', a full service marketing bureau located in Nieuw-Vennep, near the capital city Amsterdam. We were very lucky with the weather: it was the last warm day of the year and the sun invited us to go outside and work from observation.
The surroundings were sublime. The beautiful complex Chateau Sint Gerlach speaks to the imagination and the nature in and around the complex is typical for Dutch Limburg: half-timbered houses, marlstone walls, deciduous forests.
We started the workshop with a bit of theory in the Cortesse room and then, with all our gear, we chose a nice spot in the area and merged into the Limburg landscape. Preliminary studies prepared us for the real work: painting a little landscape with acrylic paint on a panel.
It was great to work with this young, enthusiastic and dynamic group of people. The task was not easy, but they completely committed themselves and learned a lot from the process.
Comments we received later via the evaluation form:
Super nice experience. Not too complicated and thought by a pleasant woman!
The workshop with Ilse was in 1 word fantastic. The combination of location, the steps of the painting process and explanation provided a very enthusiastic and interactive workshop where even a layman can easily learn from and where you can learn perfectly even if you have no painting experience.
Thank you OBM for this great collaboration.
